Strengthen the EU and target funds at climate action
The Greens commit to an EU that is able to act and want to strengthen European democracy through transnational electoral lists and more direct participation. EU funding should consistently serve socially fair climate and environmental protection, and the single market should be strengthened without national or regional go-it-alone approaches.
The Greens want a strong European Union. European elections should have lists that cross country borders. EU money should mainly help the climate and the environment. In the shared market, the same rules should apply to everyone.
Bavaria is to act as a reliable partner showing solidarity in Brussels and Berlin. The Bavarian programs that distribute EU money would be revised with the goals of climate action, sustainable farming and social fairness. In this way the platform backs the European Parliament's decision to cut greenhouse gases by more than 60 percent by 2030 compared with 1990. Businesses would get support with further harmonization in the single market. Bavaria would also step up its role in European disaster relief.
