Protect nature and ecosystems more strongly
The SPD wants to protect nature and ecosystems in line with European and international obligations. To do so, existing protected areas are to become more effective and ecologically valuable land is to be linked together.
The SPD wants to protect nature better. Protected areas should work better. Valuable land should be connected. Money should go to forests, bogs and green spaces in cities. In the sea, there should be areas where animals are left in peace.
Land-use planning is to preserve wilderness, cultural landscapes and native species. At the same time, it is meant to avoid conflicts between farming, energy, tourism, industry, housing and conservation. Money from the Aktionsprogramm Natürlicher Klimaschutz (natural climate protection program) and the nature conservation fund is to be used nationwide. Marine protected areas are to give species real space to retreat and recover.
