Reject mandates on gendered language, promote debate culture
The Free Voters reject rules requiring gender-inclusive language from employers, public authorities and universities; language should develop without deliberate intervention. They also oppose what they call cancel culture and want to promote a respectful culture of debate.
The Free Voters do not want anyone forced to use gender-inclusive language. That means writing and speaking so that all genders are included. Employers, offices and universities should not require it. The party also wants people to argue with respect.
The platform stresses personal responsibility and the individual's free choices within the law. It wants to counter social division and promote respectful interaction, including on social media. It calls for standing together against what the party sees as a growing culture of social censorship, and says excessive "political correctness" must not restrict people. The platform also names neutral media reporting, more media literacy, and easing conflicts between urban and rural areas and between generations.
