Strengthen police, courts and domestic intelligence
The CSU wants to strengthen the police with 1,000 additional positions by 2028 and better equipment, and to add staff in the justice system as well. Extremism, hate crime and attacks on emergency personnel are to be prosecuted severely. The party wants Bavaria to remain the safest German state.
The CSU wants more police officers in Bavaria. By 2028, 1,000 jobs should be added. Courts should also get more staff. The CSU wants to act hard against violence, online hate and extremism.
Plans include fully digital patrol cars and a mounted unit with 100 horses. Police would use artificial intelligence and make use of leeway in data protection law; the state office for IT security would be strengthened. The hate speech commissioner and the Verfassungsschutz (domestic intelligence agency) would be expanded to fight extremism and antisemitism of every kind. New police positions are to be matched by new positions at prosecutors' offices, criminal courts and prisons. The courts would get electronic files everywhere and be able to take over police data automatically; fire service schools and disaster response would also be expanded.
