Protect urban green space and unseal soil
The AfD wants to protect Hamburg's green spaces, allotment gardens and nature areas from development and launch a program to unseal paved ground. Parks should be cleared of litter, graffiti removed faster and more trees planted. Measures for groundwater and biodiversity are also included.
Hamburg should stay green. Small gardens and street trees should be protected. Concrete and asphalt should be removed in many places. Parks should be clean. Schools should get school gardens. This should protect insects and birds.
Fresh-air corridors should not be built on, allotment gardens protected and street trees not cut down; in parks only with nearby replanting. Traffic islands, squares and parking lots should be unsealed or greened, and landowners should get incentives such as tax breaks or city loan programs. Salt marshes and moors should be restored, hospitals and nursing homes allowed to treat wastewater separately, and rainwater permitted for toilet flushing. For biodiversity, the program foresees school gardens, rooftop gardens, consideration by the city housing company SAGA for nesting birds and advice for gardeners.
