Strengthen ties with Poland and European engagement
The SPD wants to anchor cooperation with Poland in all ministries and expand Brandenburg's role in the EU. It sees the state as a bridge between East and West and wants to defend the EU and have domestic companies protected from heavily subsidized cheap imports.
The SPD wants to work more closely with Poland. There should still be a commissioner for Poland. Towns and villages should be able to use EU money more easily. The EU should protect companies from very cheap imports. More young people should take part in exchange programs.
In Frankfurt (Oder), a Ukraine center and an Eastern Europe dialogue forum are to be set up at Viadrina University. Municipal law is to be adjusted to make cooperation with Polish municipalities easier, and media are to report more on Poland. Municipalities, research institutions and companies should make more use of EU funding programs, and red tape should be reduced. The SPD wants to advocate in Brussels for adequately funded EU programs and develop its internationalization strategy further. Exchange programs for schools, apprentices and students, as well as engagement for the European idea, are to be supported.

- Europeleaning more EU
The SPD wants to defend the EU, see its funding programs adequately financed and have the EU act more bindingly on trade protection, which means gradually more common policy.
