Reject rearmament and militarization
The Left rejects rearmament and what it sees as a growing militarization of society. It intends to hold this position in the Berlin state parliament as well as in the Bundesrat and to advocate for "Friedenstüchtigkeit" (being fit for peace) instead.
The Left is against rearmament. Rearmament means more weapons and more money for the military. The Left wants to vote against it in Berlin's parliament. It also wants to say no in the Bundesrat. It stands up for peace.
The program contrasts rearmament with the idea of being fit for peace. The Left pledges to keep saying no both in the state parliament and in the federal chamber of the states. It links this to the goal of a democratic and socialist society.
