Protect LGBTQIA+ people from discrimination and violence
The FDP calls for a zero-tolerance policy against discrimination of LGBTQIA+ people. It wants to expand prevention, prosecute violence and hate crime, and create contact points and safe housing.
The FDP wants to protect queer people better. Nobody should treat them unfairly or attack them. The police should pursue such crimes and count them separately. There should be more help centers and safe apartments. Schools should teach about the topic.
Decision-makers in government, churches and other organizations would be made more aware of tolerance and acceptance. Additional prevention work is planned in schools, educational and recreational facilities; schools would get the technical option to use names that differ from a student's official name. Insults and incitement to hatred would also be prosecuted and listed in the statistics as anti-LGBTI offenses. Help centers would enable violence prevention in all districts of Bremen and Bremerhaven. The FDP also wants to fund "community spaces" and give advocacy groups its moral support.
